Computational Biology
Edward Dougherty, Ph.D. & Michael Bittner, Ph.D. Co-Directors
TGen’s Computational Biology Division conducts research in several areas including high performance biomedical computing, knowledge-based scientific data management, Boolean network modeling, biostatistics and bioinformatics. A major component of this Division is the TGen/Arizona State University (ASU) supercomputer, capable of high-throughput analysis that was impossible only a few years ago. The Division’s goals include building models for biological systems with the purpose of facilitating translational strategies for diagnosis/prognosis and therapy and to develop classification methodologies to handle high-dimensional settings involving heterogeneous, but structured, data.
